Thanks to its long experience in the production of suction, filtration and drying systems for finished metal products, Mion Ventoltermica Depurazioni S.p.A can provide optimal solutions to complex problems about logistics, health and safety conditions and environment such as:
- Oil mists
- Welding fumes
- Polishing dusts
- Emissions of industrial painting processes
During the processing of metal products it is necessary to collect and filter metal dusts and particulates. Such material must be also conveyed, sorted and stored by means of equipment and systems which ensure health and safety conditions in the workplace. In order to meet such needs, Mion Ventoltermica Depurazioni S.p.A is specializing in the design, construction and installation of:
-
Collection systems
- Suction arms
- Extraction tables
- Suction panels
- Extraction hoods
- Suction grids
- Painting and paint drying plants
-
Filtration systems:
- Cartridge filters
- Carbon filters
- Bag filters
- Multi-pocket bags filters
- Conveying systems with fire fighting equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX).
Thanks to its qualified and experienced staff the company offers advanced solutions tailored to the needs of each customer and offers a complete customer service during each step, from the design to the post-installation service. Moreover, our aim is to provide efficient systems in compliance with all the legal provisions in force.
Mechanical and metal products: General information
In mechanics, the following materials are generally called “metals”:
- Iron Fe360
- Steel
- Aluminium
- Bronze
- Copper
- etc.
Metal materials produced thanks to iron and steel processing are classified depending on their shape and size, and can be used to create finished products such as girders, sections, metal sheets and pipes.
Use of metals in mechanical industries
After their manufacturing, finished metal products can go through other fabrication processes:
- Welding
- Cutting
- Grinding: it uses rotating abrasive wheels made up of natural or artificial abrasive materials. It is used to produce a smooth finish on the metal surface and remove excess material from the workpiece (burrs, grains, etc.)
- Polishing: multistage process, in which each subsequent stage uses a finer abrasive until the desired finish is achieved. Several types of polishing machines may be used but the most commonly used is a disc sander, with an abrasive applied to the disc surface. The workpiece has to be pressed against the surface upwards. The size and the hardness of the disc (felt) depend on the shape and the material of the workpiece.
- Brushing and finishing: several types of brushes can be used manually or applied to machines. They are made up of natural or metallic bristles (brass, stainless steel, nickel, etc.)
- Cleaning
- Painting
All these fabrication processes generate dusts and particulates, which can be collected and reused as raw materials in the manufacturing process (after being melted). Dusts can be harmful and must be collected and filtered.
Moreover, since finished metal products are often painted, Mion Ventoltermica Depurazioni S.p.A. can provide optimal solutions for the painting process (For further information see the sections “Painting systems” and “Paint drying/curing ovens and tunnels”)
